College Students Meeting Critical Community Needs
Volunteer opportunity by Liliana Martinez

Two of the most memorable places I went volunteering with AmeriCorps was the nursing home and the episcopal church. In both of these places I had the opportunity to help people that really needed medical help. The homeless and ill people I met were appreciative of any medical assistant. In the nursing home were primarily older patients who needed attention and at the episcopal church I helped homeless patients with few possessions but hearts full of knowledgeable and kindness. Both of these places give me the opportunity to realize my potential and improve myself by helping others, they also gave me a hands-on opportunity to see what I'll be doing in my nursing carrier and how much a little volunteering can help the community. I felt blessed volunteering with AmeriCorps.
