College Students Meeting Critical Community Needs
No More Sleeping! by Camille Howell

During the first two weeks of my student teaching experience at Arlee High School I noticed a student that continually slept in class. After talking to other teachers I realized that this had been a pattern for this student all year. I decided to talk to the student during my prep time and informed him that I would not accept zeros from him; he would be expected to do the work. This same student became someone that came to my room often to talk about different issues and recieve help. He was able to pull his 32% up to a passing grade by quarter time! No more sleeping in my class! :)
