Working with Americorps was an amazing experience!! I worked with Flathead Care in Montana. I had been with this organization for about 4 years and was honored when they asked if i would like to work with them to improve the organization while earning an educational award for upcoming schooling. One of the main tasks i did with Flathead Care was to help organize a major fundraising event, Rally in the Rockies. This event went to help Flathead Care's high school club, Students Taking Action Not Drugs (a club i was an active member in). I put in many hard hours getting things ready for the big event and then even more hard worked hours the day of the fundraiser. Due to my hardwork and of course the hard work of Flathead Care's director and assistant director, along with many others in the community, we were able to raise alot of money!! This made me happy, because being a former member of STAND, i knew how important funding was in order to organize future events for our community's youth!! AMericorp has been an awesome organization to work with and i am very honored to have had this awesome experience!!
