There were many great moments during my time as a campus corps member. I was able to be a school counseling intern back home and work with kids that are amazing. One of the more meaningful moments for me was working with three students from the same family, two brothers and a sister. They didn't always get along very well but towards the end of my service they all three wanted to come see me at the same time. So I said sure since I didn't think I would get another opportunity like that any time soon. The kids had been through so much for being so young but being able to sit in one room with all three of them just talking, laughing, and getting along was amazing. I felt lucky to be a part of it and the fact that they were willing to let me into their lives and open up with me and each other. On the days that I wasn't at the school my supervisor told me they would ask when I would be back because they wanted to see me! I was surprised to hear that since sometimes it's hard to know how much of a difference you are actually making. I loved being able to work with them and they definitely confirmed for me why I want to work with kids in the schools!
