Montana Campus Corps:
College Students Meeting Critical Community Needs
Grateful by Sadie Russell

As a nursing student, I had worked in the Emergency Department and ICU at one of my clinical sites. I was involved in a few tragic situations and some ended happily. One patient was in a horrible car accident and their prognosis was not positive. However, slowly but surely they made a comeback and I was able to observe their achievements and the progress they made as they stepped down through various units. Throughout my time as a nursing student, I have learned to just be grateful for the success and small miracles I am able to witness and to accept the others as phases of life. I am thankful for the instructors and nurses who helped guide me through these important moments.
