Nearly 150 AmeriCorps members will be gathering on the lower slopes of Mt. Sentinel at the University of Montana for a mass invasive weed-pull on Saturday, September 26th. The service project is a part of a weekend conference convened by the Montana Campus Compact (MTCC), a network of college campuses committed to volunteerism and public service.
Service members from three unique AmeriCorps programs—Montana Campus Corps, Montana Conservation Corps, and MTCC AmeriCorps*VISTA – will be honoring National Public Lands Day by collaborating on the invasive weed-pull.
Following the weed-pull, the group will reconvene for a civic reflection activity and debrief on the lawn at UM’s Oval.
