MLK, Jr. Day was a great success for communities across Montana! Campus Corps programs hosted a variety of events and projects to honor the legacy of Dr. King, Jr. Several campuses organized a Read for Peace project, in which volunteers read an age-appropriate book about Dr. King to kindergarten through third grade students. The students were then able to reflect on ideas generated from their reading through poems and pictures, which were subsequently shared in community locations.
An overwhelming number of volunteers came out to take part in the various events, embracing the idea that the holiday be viewed as a "day on" and an opportunity to be of service to one's community.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this year's National Day of Service for being a part of such a successful statewide initiative! Thank you to all volunteers who devoted a great deal of their time and effort to support such an important cause!
Campus Corps projects in Billings & Butte were both featured on their local news
