I have had the opportunity to meet and work with several people and have made many friends. From computer clean up, helping with senior citizen lunches, various deaf events, fundraisers, helping an elderly deaf lady with home care, Relay For Life, voting polls as an elective judge .. I could go on and on... At the voting polIs as an election judge, I expected to explain how the voting polls work and how easy it is, after experience, I was quite amazed of how empowering how simple voting can be for everyone, however, for the deaf community, its actually an understanding of how they can actually research who they can vote for and how they can easily come in and cast their vote like everyone. Alot of deaf in the deaf community is often isolated and, per say, buried under the ground like every other disability community. I would love to keep working as an election judge and help the deaf be more involved with voting. I would encourage others to join Campus Corps. Thank you everyone that have helped make this happen!
