Montana Campus Corps:
College Students Meeting Critical Community Needs
Kids Camp by Ariel Berg

For three years now I have been involved in a camp for middle schoolers called "Kids Camp". Going into my first year as a counciler I was just looking forward to all of the vollunteer hours that I would accumulate over the week to put on my resume. But as the week went on I realized that I was helping these kids, and I was becoming a role model to them. Kids camp turned into so much more than just another thing to put on my resume. It was a life changing experience that truly changed my life. I have been going back to be a counciler every summer since then, and it seems that as time goes one I just enjoy it more an more. Kids Camp has not only changed my life, but it has also influenced what I want to do for a career in the future. I want to go on in life to be a substance abuse counciler and I have Kids Camp to thank for that. The camp has made me a better person, inside and out and I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to participate in it.
