Montana Campus Corps:
College Students Meeting Critical Community Needs
Confidence by Carlie Andrews

At the beginning for my spring semester 2010 at Montana Tech I was accepted into the Radiology program. A part of this program includes a lot of hours of clinicals. I saw cliniclas as a learning environment to further my knowledge in the radiology field. I soon realized that it was going to be much more than that. As a student I follow the x-ray technicians and perform exams and learn positioning. I also help transport patients often. I am the youngest of the 11 students in the radiology program this year. I became shy and not confident knowing I don't have as much life experience as everybody else. I soon started second guessing myself and it reflected onto my positioning skills. I think the most important thing that I have learned throughout this experience is to be confident in myself. It isn't something that one can learn over night, or in a day, or even in a week. It is a process that I am currently trying to overcome to become the best that I can be. I need this confidence to strive to be the best person I can be and it has been something that I have struggled with in the past. Because of this program I am hoping I will finally finish this ongoing obstacle. To you Montana Campus Corps I say thank you.
