Thankful for volunteer opportunities by Michelle Reimnitz

As my term of service headed towards a close, I wondered where I should serve with my two recruited volunteers. I decided we would help a local church with their annual Thanksgiving dinner for the people in the neighborhood who don't have a place to go. Right before dinner was served everyone had a chance to say what they were thankful for. It was truly beautiful to hear their answers. As I stood there and reflected on my own feelings of thankfulness I realized I am thankful for volunteer opportunities! Volunteering is such a wonderful and fufilling thing to do and it's great that there are so many ways we can help other people in our community. I enjoyed serving so many amazing people during my term and I especially enjoyed being able to serve on Thanksgiving!
