President Obama Awards Citizen Service Heroes with Medal of Honor
Washington, DC-Patrick A. Corvington, CEO of the Corporation for National and Community Service, joined President Obama today as he awarded 13 Americans the 2010 Citizens Medal, the nation's second-highest civilian honor, for their exemplary acts of service.
Donate Life Today Month: Results are in!
Helena, MT - The Governor's Office of Community Service (serve.mt.gov) announced today that 682 citizens registered their organ, eye and tissue donation wishes as part of the 'Donate Life Today' Montana college and university campus registration challenge. This year's challenge posted the highest overall total of registrations, since the annual campus challenge started in 2007.

Montana's First Lady Visits Campus Corps Members in Great Falls

The Difference a Day Made
National Service members and engaged citizens throughout the state participated in meaningful service projects on October 24, 2009. This year's Make-a-Difference Day was a huge success, thanks in part to the efforts of Campus Corps members who pitched in and made a difference in their local communities.
MTCC and MCC collaborate for National Public Lands Day project
Nearly 150 AmeriCorps members will be gathering on the lower slopes of Mt. Sentinel at the University of Montana for a mass invasive weed-pull on Saturday, September 26th. The service project is a part of a weekend conference convened by the Montana Campus Compact (MTCC), a network of college campuses committed to volunteerism and public service. Service members from three unique AmeriCorps programs-Montana Campus Corps, Montana Conservation Corps, and MTCC AmeriCorps*VISTA - will be honoring National Public Lands Day by collaborating on the invasive weed-pull.
Campus Corps enters its 16th year!
For 15 years, Montana Campus Corps has been "Getting Things Done" for Montana by engaging college students in service. 2009 marks the beginning of a new era for the program, with more campuses participating, more students serving, and more communities benefiting.
